In a Hertford County field where rows of corn once grew, rows of solar panels now stand 20,000 panels that will soon convert sunshine into enough electricity to power a small town. Within the next month, Duke Energy Renewables' project on 37 acres will be one of the largest in North Carolina. About 40 miles to the southeast, on a 100-acre field in Perquimans County, a Charlotte company plans to build another solar farm, this one, being much larger than Duke’s project, consisting of 83,000 panels. Once constructed it will stand out as the largest in North Carolina. With the two solar farms and at least three major wind farms in development, northeastern North Carolina has become a thriving location for renewable energy. The region has plenty of open land, and a sunny, breezy coastal climate. Although just as critical it has a major power line running through it with ties to the PJM Interconnection, the largest competitive wholesale electricity market in the world.
Many nations throughout the world are in search of alternative energy sources. Several of these nations have found strong production of energy from solar farms, others are finding that they have a breezy climate and wind farms suite them better. Nations across Europe are using nuclear energy to make an abundance of electricity, while occupying a minimal amount of space. Alternative energy is everywhere, homes across the United States are using forms of geothermal energy to heat their homes in the winter time, by doing this they ultimately zero costs for natural gas. Many alternative energy sources are beneficial not just to the environment but to the pocket bucks of its user. Alternative energy sources need to be put into use. Each has its own characteristics, benefits, and value.
interesting. It seemed to catch my interest right away witch is good.
ReplyDeleteIts good that you've introduced a little of why this is/should be important to me, but I would try go a bit further with that.
ReplyDeleteVery informative, but also very blan. I wasn't immediately drawn in. It's a very prevalent issue and I'd love it if it really grabbed the reader but alas, it didn't for me. I'd like more of a "why should I care" clause in there as well. I understand that the environment is important and all that jazz, but I'd like more persuasion so I can get past the introduction.
ReplyDeleteit's not bad, but you're not fully grabbing my attention in the beginning. I love how informative your intro is so far, but try to make it a bit more interesting and not just facts. Really draw your reader in so that they stay for the whole paper. Good start so far!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Justin about this, the information is good, if you had a statement by somebody in the area praising or questioning it it would really help you create interest--something like that always grabs reader's attentions. You also need a better tie in between the second paragraph and the first--perhaps providing a quotation from local would help you solve that. I also think you might be better off focusing on kind of alternative energy source as the best, it would make the paper easier to write.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your great article on solar panels. I would like to suggest you Aztech Solar to install solar panels. They are doing great work for their clients at affordable prices.
